Rehabilitated and released by Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center, her journey from distress to recovery inspired these original Wildlife Jewels® works of art. Each piece captures her strength and elegance through bold brushstrokes and gem-like accents, celebrating the resilience of this majestic bird. About Peach Sapphire

Peach Sapphire is a precious 2-year-old female California Brown Pelican who was among the fortunate pelicans rescued during the devastating domoic acid crisis in May 2025. Found in Dana Point, California, she was thin, emaciated, and severely impacted by domoic acid toxicity—a fate tragically shared by thousands of pelicans during this environmental disaster.

Thankfully, through the dedicated care of the Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center, she was rehabilitated and released back into the wild, a remarkable symbol of hope and resilience amid a tragic event.

Meet Gray Sapphire the Gull

Gray sapphire, a precious Western Gull rescued in Huntington Beach, who had become entangled in fishing gear and saran wrap, and had also ingested a fishing hook—life-threatening consequences of improperly discarded fishing gear and coastal plastic pollution.

Thanks to the dedicated care of the Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center, she was successfully rehabilitated, and released back into the wild. Her story is a reminder of the challenges seabirds face and the incredible strength of wildlife given a second chance.
